Drop In Class And To A Mile To Suit Three-Year-Old
The Mark Johnston yard is in sizzling form at the moment, with 26 winners in the last fortnight - that's about 24% - and has 16 runners out today. One of the best, and one with an outstanding chance of success is OASIS PRINCE, who goes in the MansionBet Best Odds Guaranteed Handicap at Nottingham. This is a drop in standard from his last run just a week ago when he was beaten just under three lengths in a blanket finish in a Class 2 at Newmarket, a little bit better of a race than today's event.
The contest was won by Walkinthesand but around him Oasis Prince had the likes of previous five lengths Windsor winner Korcho, and stablemate and winner of last year's Goodwood Group 1 Qatar Stakes, Dark Vision. It was a hot contest and will surely produce plenty of winners, hopefully starting with Oasis Prince today.
The son of Oasis Dream has won four times, once at seven furlongs and the others at a mile, and the return to that trip today, from last week's mile and a quarter will be in his favour; his sire was best at six furlongs and won the Grade 1 July Cup over that distance back in 2003.
SILVER LINE and DAWAALEEB are clear second best on form and BTO ratings. The former has consistently run reasonably in Class 2 handicaps after being found out in listed races and struggling in four outings at Meydan. He won on his debut but that was 14 races ago and he hasn't done it again since. Dawaaleeb can be a big threat after running well in a couple of Class 3 handicaps and now getting a mark of 89, his lowest since winning off that at Redcar 13 months ago. The exchanges have Oasis Prince at a best 6/4 and those odds might look generous around 4.35 this afternoon.
