The Cairn Rouge Stakes is the feature affair at Killarney this evening and a healthy 12-runner field go to post

Aidan O'Brien runs four in the race and the betting market suggests ASKING has the best chance. The daughter of Zoffany tops BTO+ ratings going into the contest and the filly has solid form going into the affair. Two starts ago in a Curragh handicap, Asking was forced to carry top weight. However, under a superbly-timed ride by Ana O'Brien, the filly got up to score by half-a-length. Asking's latest run came just four days after her Curragh win at Fairyhouse in the Brownstown Stakes. Although she finished third, the three-year-old had likely not been given a long enough break to recover. The Fairyhouse contest was also a Group Three while she drops to Listed company at Fairyhouse. Asking should give a solid account of herself and O'Brien gloats a 31% better-than-expected win rate in the past two weeks.

The Ballydoyle handler also saddles MUSIC BOX, who is second-best rated by BTO+. The daughter of Invincible Spirit has form to reverse with her aforementioned stablemate from the Curragh, but Music Box has scored since. The three-year-old won by three-quarters-of-a-length, despite dwelling out of the stalls. That success should have installed plenty of confidence into Music Box, although this evening's race will be his fourth run in the month and he could feel the repercussions.

PETTICOAT runs in the affair having had just four starts. Michael Halford's charge is still fairly unexposed and is open to further improvement. It took Petticoat three starts to scratch her duck, but she was plenty impressive as she hacked up by two-and-a-quarter lengths at Leopardstown. The daughter of Cape Cross had her first start in Pattern company last month at Naas in the Naas Oaks Trial. Petticoat finished fourth on the day, but the filly didn't enjoy the trip and will be more suited to dropping back down to one mile.

Joseph O'Brien's two runners DILMUN and RUBY SHOES are also both inexperienced. The former will be ridden by his brother, Donnacha, and bids for a double. The daughter of War Front was behind Petticoat on her second start but has improved from that run since. Dilmun romped home by two-and-three-quarter lengths at Dundalk last Wednesday and attempts a quick turnaround. The three-year-old has three positives on BTO+ ratings, one being O'Brien's strike rate in the past two weeks which is 18% better than expected.

Ruby Shoes has had just two runs. The daughter of Rock Of Gibraltar was virtually pulled up on his debut at Cork in May over 10 furlongs and was then given over a month off the track. However, Ruby Shoes won on his second start at Tipperary when he was dropped in trip by two lengths. However, the race Ruby Shoes won looks average and faces much stiffer competition at Killarney.
