Nicky Henderson confirms Shishkin will continue his career over fences in the Lightning Novices' Chase at Doncaster next weekend.
The seven-year-old was last seen in December when winning the Ladbrokes Wayward Lad Novices' Chase at Kempton.
He has now won twice at Kempton and Henderson is looking for another substantial test ahead of the Cheltenham Festival. Henderson believes the Grade Two contest over an extended two miles is the perfect race for last season's Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner.
The legendary trainer has also confirmed Floressa and Marie's Rock are likely to run in the Grade Two Yorkshire Rose Mares' Hurdle, while Santini will be the yard's main runner at the Cheltenham Festival Trials meeting the same day.
Confirming his plans, Henderson told Unibet: "We're unlikely to have too many runners at Cheltenham next week. Santini would be the obvious one, and I think I'm swinging towards Doncaster's Lightning Novices' Chase for Shishkin, while Floressa and Marie's Rock could contest the Mares' Hurdle up there."
Henderson has also discussed Champ's next venture, and he confirms he is set to make his seasonal bow in the Denman Chase at Newbury on February 13.
