Trainer Sandy Thomson has announced Seeyouatmidnight is set to run in the Midlands Grand National next time out.

The 13-year-old proved the doubters wrong earlier this month, when winning the Veterans' Handicap Chase at Sandown.

Thomson's charge beat the likes of Crosspark, Sir Ivan, Sametegal, Potters Legend and Valtor on January 2 to hand connections another priceless memory.

The 13-year-old's career has been blighted by injury throughout the last few years, but he has now won two of his last three.

The Midlands Grand National in March is now a real possibility, with Thomson eager to take the fan favourite to Uttoxeter if he remains fit and well.

"He's grand. We've half got the Midlands National pencilled in," said Thomson.

"Sandown was great for everybody - great for racing and great for us. These are the stories we need because we've got this opportunity to captivate a new audience and get more people involved. That's brilliant."
