Trainer Charlie Appleby has confirmed stable star Master Of The Seas will now miss the Darley Dewhurst Stakes next month.
The two-year-old was expected to run at Newmarket for a third time this October, but plans have been shelved after a poor run last time out.
Master Of The Seas started his career with a win at HQ in June, and he soon followed that up with another win on the Rowley Mile in the Group Two Duchess of Cambridge Stakes on the July Course.
The Dubawi colt was well fancied to provide Appleby with a third straight win in the Group One National Stakes at the Curragh, but he could only finish fourth, with Thunder Moon winning on September 13th.
Master Of The Seas could still have a bright future, but Appleby says connections want to give him a short break.
He told reporters: "He won't be going to the Dewhurst. He didn't come out of the National Stakes as well, and he had a hard race there.
"We felt we would give him a small break. I think we will go later in the autumn, and he has options in France."
