Mogul made it third time lucky in 2020 with a victory at Goodwood with Aidan O'Brien now planning a trip to France.
Mogul was a beaten odds-on favourite at Royal Ascot before coming home a disappointing sixth in the Derby earlier this month.
However, he made up for that with victory in the John Pearce Racing Gordon Stakes on Thursday, Ryan Moore timing his run to perfection.
Joe Fanning aboard Subjectivist had set a strong pace and looked to have done enough with the eventual winner back in fourth inside the final furlong.
However, Moore cajoled Mogul to the front in time to end up winning by three-quarters of a length, with Highland Chief coming home second.
O'Brien revealed he was expecting to take at least three runs to get him to the winner's enclosure, and is now targeting a run in France.
"We always thought he was going to take two runs," O'Brien said. "He's a big, strong, powerful horse who carries a lot of muscle and weight. We were hoping to get that into him before the Derby but that was only his second run. We were delighted with him today.
"We still think there is more to come from him. We're thinking of going to the Grand Prix de Paris with him next maybe, that was the plan if everything went well today."
