Trainer Nicky Richards says he is looking forward to seeing Takingrisks at the Grand National after giving the go ahead.
The ten-year-old is in great form having won four of his last five starts.
Notable wins include last year's Scottish Grand National, where he held on stoutly, before winning the Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle last month.
Now, a tilt at the Grand National looks certain, with Richards looking to emulate his late father Gordon's achievements at Aintree.
He won with Lucius and Hallo Dandy in 1978 and 1984 respectively, and now Nicky admits he is looking forward to seeing what his charge can achieve in the world-famous steeplechase.
"He'll be running in the National, all being well," Richards said. "He's a great jumper, has bags of stamina and is super honest and consistent.
"You'd be very hopeful he might run a very good race at Aintree – he's everything you want in a racehorse.
"The old man loved the race and it's great to have a horse like him in it."
