Evan Williams has confirmed that Silver Streak should run in the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day.
The six-year-old finished third in last season's Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival despite being an outsider and he made a winning return to action for the current campaign by claiming overall glory in a Listed contest at Kempton.
Silver Streak followed that up by making the step into Grade One company in last month's Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle where he finished a respectable third behind Cornerstone Lad and Buveur D'Air.
The grey gelding emerged from that contest unscathed and trainer Williams has now confirmed that, all being well, he will run in the Christmas Hurdle later this month.
"He's come out of the race very well. It was good to get that under our belt and we'll keep an eye on the Christmas Hurdle now," said Williams.
"I think we'll aim for that. If we think he needs more time, we will give him it, but at the moment we're on track for Kempton."
