Trainer Willie Mullins says Saldier will not contest the Grade 1 Matheson Hurdle at Leopardstown over the Christmas period.
Saldier was last seen winning the Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown on November 16 but Mullins is reluctant to send the five-year-old back into action before the new year.
"Saldier didn't come out of his Morgiana win as well as I'd hoped," he told the Racing Post. "I'm not 100 per cent happy with him, so we decided not to enter him for the Matheson Hurdle on December 29. Hopefully he will be back in action early in the new year."
Mullins has made three entries for the Matheson, with Klassical Dream, Sharjah and Aramon all in contention for a run at Leopardstown.
