Trainer Kerry Lee was left overjoyed after Happy Diva came out on top in the BetVictor Gold Cup at Cheltenham on Saturday.
Having been brought down in the race 12 months ago, Happy Diva made up for that disappointment to win by a neck from Brelan D'As, who put up a strong challenge down the final stretch.
Warthog, who had led the race for a large period, was eight lengths back in third, while Belami Des Pictons finished in fourth, ahead of Magic Saint and Count Merible, who were fifth and sixth respectively.
Ante-post favourite Slate House, under the guidance of jockey Robbie Power, was looking ominously good as the contest began to unravel but a fall at the second-last fence ended the duo's chance of success.
Speaking after the victory, winning rider Richard Patrick said: "Last year she was very unlucky. She was travelling like a dream but a bad crash happened in front of us and we were brought down. She got what she deserved today.
"She's unreal to ride because she travels so well and jumps brilliantly, she almost travels too well really. She's the best horse I've ever ridden.
"The horses have been running a bit hit and miss but we have a nice bunch. A massive thanks to the owners for keeping me on her and to Kerry for keeping the faith."
