Nicky Henderson is set to take Fusil Raffles to the Christmas Hurdle after his comeback win at Wincanton at the weekend.
The four-year-old son of Saint Des Saints, who had not raced since securing Grade One spoils at Punchestown in May, came home three-quarters of a length ahead of Grand Sancy under Daryl Jacob in Saturday's Grade two Unibet Elite Hurdle.
And, looking at future prospects for the gelding, along with his other two-mile hurdlers, Henderson has his sights on the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day.
The Seven Barrows handler, who will take his dual Champion Hurdle hero Buveur D'Air to Newcastle for the Fighting Fifth Hurdle on November 30 and still has to devise plans for Pentland Hills, said: "It is going to be difficult to plan what we do next.
"We know where Buveur D'Air will go, and Fusil will probably go to the Christmas Hurdle as well.
"We have got to get Pentland Hills in somewhere. I would think it would have to be the International Hurdle at Cheltenham in December."
