The Willie Mullins'-trained Wicklow Brave has died after a fall at far Hills during Saturday's American Grand National.
The 10-year-old winner of the Irish St Leger under Frankie Dettori in 2016, the 2015 County Hurdle and the 2017 Punchestown Champion Hurdle, was on course to claim an 18th win in 59 races but fell at the last with Nicky Henderson's Brain Power securing the win.
It was later revealed that Wicklow Brave suffered a fractured right shoulder and the decision was made to euthanise him.
Far Hills race meeting chairman Guy Torsilieri said: "We are sad to have lost such a champion today. Our thoughts are with Wicklow Brave's owners and all of their connections, the racing community and the fans. It was heartbreaking for all of us."
