Pinatubo ended his juvenile campaign in fine style as he won the Darley Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket, his sixth victory in a row.
The two-year-old had broken records in previous races after starting his career at Wolverhampton in May. Charlie Appleby's charge had also won at Epsom Downs, Ascot, Goodwood and the Curragh before winning his first race at HQ.
Pinatubo was the 1/3 favourite before Saturday's big race, and he finished clear of Aidan O'Brien's Arizona who put up a real fight in soft conditions.
William Buick pushed his charge through the middle of the field before taking control of the race, and Appelby says it was a relief to see his stable star deliver the goods for the public.
He told ITV Racing: "I'm relieved, we can all try and be calm and composed beforehand but when you get a horse like this... we've all seen it with Enable last week, and it clearly means a lot to the public.
"Thankfully, this horse has gone and done it and kept the dream alive for the winter."
