Angel Alexander roared to success in the Ayr Gold Cup at a price of 28/1 and may now be off to Dubai.
The three-year-old, co-owned by former England footballer Michael Owen, raced in the smaller stands' side group and timed his run to perfection to claim the spoils.
It was the son of Dark Angel's fourth success of the year, with Richard Fahey's Growl second ahead of Gulliver.
Short-priced favourite Buffer Zone was never in the hunt and finished way back in 17th spot and it was all about Tom Dascombe's charge.
Richard Kingscote did a superb job in the saddle and the jockey feels a trip to the United Arab Emirates may now be on the agenda.
"He's a tough horse. He's always promised to land us a nice one and with him running at Chester a lot, you don't always get the rub of the green. I think he's shown his true colours today," he said.
"The owners said if he won today he may well be off to Dubai. He's shown he's handled a sounder surface today because a lot of his form is on slower ground. They can have a lot of fun with him."
