King Of Change has been tipped by Richard Hannon for success in 2020 after victory in the Chasemore Farm Fortune Stakes at Sandown.
The three-year-old had not been seen since finishing second behind Magna Grecia in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket in early May.
But after remaining patient with King Of Change, Hannon decided to give him a comeback in Thursday's Sandown meeting as he starts his preparations for a possible outing in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on Champions Day next month.
And the decision paid off as Sean Levey guided him to victory, a length and a quarter clear of favourite Turgenev.
"We're pleased, he's been working very well and it's nice to see him run a big race," said Hannon.
"He'll have needed that, he's been off a while so it was pleasing.
"He's got a few nice entries and they are all possibilities at the moment. He will appreciate a bit of give in the ground and next year will probably be his year.
"We've a fresh horse to head into the autumn with. It was nice for him to prove the Guineas second wasn't a fluke."
