Mustajeer scooped the £1million prize by topping the field to win the Ebor Handicap at York on Saturday.
He finished fourth in last year's edition on the Knavesmire and went off at 16/1 among strong company in the final day feature.
Jockey Colin Keane took a patient approach before hitting the front with the six-year-old in the final furlong to snatch victory by three-quarters of a length from Red Galileo.
Keane said: "It was a very good performance. It was pretty smooth. I'm just grateful to be riding him.
"I probably got there a bit sooner than I wanted to. His aim at the start of the year was to be here and it's a brilliant training performance by Ger [Lyons]."
Desert Skyline came home third with Raymond Tusk finishing fourth in the one-mile six-furlong race.
