Logician won the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York’s Ebor Festival as his ideal preparations for the St Leger continue.
The John Gosden-trained three-year-old, and son of Frankel, looked very comfortable in his step up from handicap class.
Jockey Frankie Dettori held him back until the final three furlongs before the odds-on favourite cruised through the field to cross the line in front.
He has now extended his perfect run to four wins from four races and Logician is likely to race in the St Leger at Doncaster in September as Gosden says it is an obvious option for him.
"I couldn't be more pleased with him," Gosden said. "He's still a tender, young horse who had won a maiden, a novice and a handicap, so it was a big jump.
"He's going the right way. We'll see how he is in the next 10 days before we make any decision as to where he goes next.
"There is one obvious option (Leger), but there are other options if you stay at a mile and a half.
"I need to speak to the jockey and the racing manager. There are a lot of discussions to be had in the next 10 days."
