Jockey Davy Russell has confirmed he has avoided serious injury following Tuesday's fall at Roscommon.
The three-time Irish champion jockey suffered a leg injury after parting company with the Gordon Elliott-trained Crack Of Thunder when he was just four fences from the finish in the Michael Holland Tyres Handicap Chase.
There were initial concerns that Russell may have suffered a serious injury following the fall, but the County Cork native has now taken to Twitter to confirm that the leg is just badly bruised.
"No fracture just badly bruised thanks for all the kind messages," Russell tweeted.
There has been no timeframe put on when Russell will be able to resume racing, but he will be hoping to return soon, as he has enjoyed a successful 2018 to date, the highlight being when he rode Tiger Roll to glory at the Grand National in April.
Indeed, Russell is one of Ireland's most decorated jockeys, as he has also won 22 races at the Cheltenham Festival, including his victory in the 2014 Gold Cup.
