Trainer John Gosden has revealed that Cracksman is unlikely to run in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot.
The three-time Group One winner has enjoyed a successful season to date, claiming victories in the Coronation Cup and the Ganay Stakes, while he finished second to the impressive Poet's Word during his most recent run in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot last month.
However, the four-year-old is still recovering from his exertions during that run and Gosden has confirmed he is unlikely to compete in the King George at the end of July, with a return towards the end of the summer being his more likely option.
"He's full of himself, he's happy as anything. We're obviously freshening at the moment, we'll do a little bit of work," said Gosden.
"We'll keep an eye on the King George, but he's more likely coming back for a late summer/autumn campaign, we're not even halfway through the year as yet."
