Colin Tizzard has indicated that Sizing Tennessee is likely to run in the RSA Chase at this year's Cheltenham Festival.
The trainer saw his charge finish second, just a neck behind Yanworth, in the BetBright Dipper Novices' Chase at Prestbury Park on New Year's Day.
It was another impressive performance from the 10-year-old, who had won on his previous outing – a 3m 1f Novices' Chase at Cheltenham on December 15.
Tizzard is certainly buoyed by the gelding’s display and has high hopes for a big race at the Festival – which gets underway on Tuesday March 13.
The Dorset-based trainer admitted: "I thought we’d got it, but we never quite got by (the winner) on the run-in. He's a good horse now though.
"He would in all probability have beaten Black Corton first time up (in October), but he frightened himself at the top of the hill."
Those punters eyeing grand national free bets, will note that Sizing Tennessee is currently best-price 66-1 for the Aintree showpiece. Another Tizzard runner who features in the Grand national betting is Tempestatefloresco, who is best priced 40/1 after winning four races in 2017. You can get very good betting offers on BookiesOffers like bet £5 and get £50 by Ladbrokes or £20 matched deposit bonus by Coral bets.
But Cheltenham is the first focus for Tizzard and his charges, and in particular for Sizing Tennessee it’s the RSA Chase.
His trainer added: "He won last time and we schooled him and he looked like he was back. I think he will be RSA-bound now."
The Ann & Alan Potts-owned horse is currently best-price 33/1 to claim the Grade 1 contest, a race which Tizzard is yet to trainer a winner.
