Tom Dascombe suffered heartbreak last year when his stable star Brown Panther fatally passed away after being pulled up in the Irish St Leger but the Manor House handler will have high hopes for Kachy this time around.

The son of Kyllachy displayed an electric turn of foot to beat an experienced field on debut at Chester and would have learned plenty from his first run at such an unorthodox track.

He was then thrust into Group 3 action in the Molecomb Stakes at Glorious Goodwood on his last start. He faced a decent field which included Norfolk Stakes third King Of Rooks. Kachy raced green midway through the race but was given a peach of a ride by Richard Kingscote on the stands' side rail and, much like his maiden, Kachy quickened well and won comfortably by three-quarters of a length.

The form of his Goodwood victory has worked out extremely well with third Rouleau subsequently coming out to win the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes at Kempton.

The Greenham Stakes could be Kachy's first target of the season. Being out of a daughter of 2003 Queen Anne Stakes winner Dubai Destination, it's understandable why connections may feel he'll get the Guineas trip and are perfectly entitled to have a crack at running over further.

However, based on his previous efforts and that his sire, Kyllachy, thrived in the sprint division being a Nunthorpe Stakes winner, Kachy looks a colt who may flourish racing at six furlongs. The Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock Park would be an ideal race for Kachy to be aimed at if he does not perform in the Greenham and, if an impressive winner, connections would likely be willing to take on John Gosden's Shalaa in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot before a possible tilt at the July Cup if all things go well.
