One of the best novice hurdlers of last season, including a win in Grade 1 Challow here (2m4f, soft); lost his unbeaten hurdle record when close fourth in Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham (3m, soft) in March but he did look unlucky, suffering some interference both before and after the final flight; totally unexposed as a stayer and has the potential for even better in 2020-21.

Until his disappointing seventh to Lisnagar Oscar at Cheltenham in March he'd very much dominated the staying scene, including taking this race on last year's reappearance; after typically going a little in snatches his customary finishing surge just wasn't there at Cheltenham but his overall record means he still has to be considered the one to beat in this division.

It took a bit of time for this smart bumper performer to get his act together over hurdles but it all clicked with two wins in the spring and he took it up another notch with very easy reappearance success in Grade 2 novice at Chepstow (2m3f, good) seven weeks ago; clearly more on his plate now moving into open Grade 1 company but he looks a most exciting prospect and this longer trip should be within range.

Comprehensively turned around Cleeve Hurdle form with Paisley Park when springing a 50-1 surprise in Stayers' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March; left impression the run was needed when fading into fourth on 3m Wetherby reappearance 27 days ago; should be sharper now but the latest renewal of the Stayers' probably wasn't one of the strongest and he'll likely need another career best to resume winning ways.

Career went into a bit of lull immediately after his 2018 Supreme Novices' success but he's very much got back on track in 2020, winning the Relkeel at Cheltenham (2m4f) before second to Paisley Park in the Cleeve and fifth to Lisnagar Oscar in the Stayers' there (both 3m); career-best RPR of 161 when reappearing with 2m4f Aintree win 20 days ago; likely to give another good account now stepping back up to 3m.
